Did you know there is a tradition that one of the prisoners captured at the Battle of Bennington decorated the first Christmas tree in New England? The tale dates back as far as... 1955... but we'll run with it!
In honor of Hendrick Roddemore, who didn't let defeat & captivity dampen his holiday cheer, join us at Bennington Battlefield for a holiday wreath workshop.
Refreshments and crafting materials will be provided. A suitably festive movie will be screened as crafters work.

NOTICE OF WRITTEN COMMENT PERIOD
The Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Hoosick conducted a Public Hearing on September 5, 2023 regarding the applications for special use permit, site plan, and area variances submitted to the Town of Hoosick by Hawthorn Solar, LLC (a subsidiary of CS Energy, LLC) requesting municipal approvals to construct, operate and maintain a Solar Energy System on 130 acres of property along Pine Valley Road and Fords Road within the Agricultural/Residential Zoning District on lands owned by Dale Ford (Tax Map Parcel No. 36.-1-9.2) and Timothy and Brittany Marbot (Tax Map Parcel Nos. 36.-1-10.1, 36.-1-11.1, and 46.-1-10.11).
At its meeting held October 2, 2023, the Zoning Board of Appeals closed the Public Hearing, and established a 14-day period for submission of any additional written comments on such applications.

This Saturday, May 20 from 10-4
at the Hoosick Armory!
The Friends of the Bennington Battlefield, in collaboration with the Hoosick Township Historical Society, invite you to a fair including representatives from a wide variety of historic sites and organizations who will share interesting history from Rensselaer County and beyond.
Transportation will be available to take you from the Armory in downtown Hoosick Falls to bring visitors to the battlefield and back again, rain or shine.
No admission fee will be charged, food trucks on-site. Fun for the whole family.
