Coming Soon to a Library Near You

We do not have much to recap for you from the month of December as the site closed for the season in November. However, as part of our off-season programming, site assistant David Pitlyk will be making the rounds to speak at libraries in the Upper Hudson Library System. His talk will cover the history of the battle, drawing on a number of eyewitness accounts, as well as how it has been commemorated through the years. Watch for more locations to be added in the future. We hope to see you on one of the following dates.

1/11/2019    6:00 PM   Brunswick Library
1/15/2019    6:00 PM   Watervliet Public Library
2/6/2019      6:00 PM   Castleton Library
3/5/2019      7:00 PM   Bethlehem Public Library
3/9/2019      1:00 PM   William K. Sanford Library (Colonie)

Don Troiani recently shared another painting for a forthcoming book Campaign to Saratoga - 1777: The Turning Point of the Revolutionary War in Paintings, Artifacts, and Historical Narrative. This watercolor depicts an American militiaman as described by J.F. Wasmus.
